 Ultramat South Africa, established in 2004, took advantage of the high-quality well priced specialized engineering products available from certain premium Chinese suppliers, and by so doing, has added value for local customers and others in Europe and the Americas as the sole distributor for GESAC products in Africa.
Ultramat SA supplies products originating mainly from GESAC Ltd of Xiamen China, in partnership with MCT-UltraParts (Europe) who have been successfully supplying product from GESAC into the European and North American markets for 14 years in quantities often exceeding 100 tons a month. GESAC is one of China’s premier hardmetal producers, and is their largest exporter. In August 2005, Sandvik Sweden purchased a 10% share in GESAC, with Sumitomo Japan owning 30% of the shares for more than 10 years.

GESAC has been a fully ISO 9001 certified supplier since January 1998, having been audited by the Det Norske Veritas Certification Authority.
